I’d like to thank MP @HonAhmedHussen for co-sponsoring this bill with me and for his counsel.

I hope that all MPs will support this legislation.

Canada is home to many Canadians of Somali heritage.

Canadians of Somali descent have left and continue to leave a historic mark on Canada, with contributions that span communities across the country and are reflected in Canada’s economic, political, social and cultural life.

If passed, Somali heritage month would give us an opportunity to celebrate that heritage, the role that Canada has played in supporting Somali Canadians and their contributions to Canada.

The frightening part is that governments increasingly frame all dissent through the lens of public safety, misinformation, extremism, instability, or mental health risk. During the trucker protests, Canada froze bank accounts without criminal trials. Speech laws have expanded aggressively. Online monitoring has intensified. MAID and assisted suicide laws expanded while mental health systems simultaneously gained broader authority. People are beginning to notice that nearly every modern crisis somehow results in institutions obtaining more power over the individual.

While we are forced to pay Carbon taxes to “save the planet”, Kevin O’Leary’s $70 Billion 8,000 Acre “Wonder Valley” AI Campus just got exempted from Alberta’s environmental assessment.

These AI data centers consume so much energy that Alberta is allowing tech giants to build their own private natural gas power plants while using tens of millions of cubic meters of water every year during a drought.

The same type of Data Centre our government needs to implement Bill C-8, C-9 and C-22.

The green agenda is not about saving the planet, it’s about surveillance and censorship.
