It's International Day of La Francophonie! Join us as we celebrate the French language which contributes to our country’s linguistic duality and connects us to so many communities around the world. We also thank all French-speaking newcomers for the valuable contributions they make to their new communities every day. Read Minister Miller's statement: https://t.co/5LfKmr52CE

Every time we struggled to find a washroom on the highway, we reflected on how many girls in rural communities still do not have access to facilities that enable them to wash their hands & change their menstrual products during the school day.

Day 4: We were getting closer to the city, & were awash with a new gleam of hope.
It's been a hard journey, but we have had an amazing time. With friends, family, a food sponsor (@thepilotflyj), and new friends we made along the way. (See comment for continuation)
We have had amazing converstions to raise awareness about menstrual rights & how, even today, young girls around the world do not have access to menstrual products or appropriate WASH facilities.
This made us more determined than ever to raise the voices of those who have braved it all for their safety and those of their families.

A huge shout out to our amazing driver @ohreena7
As we trekked & thought of our difficult moments, we reflected on those forced to flee their homes. Those who can only rely on themselves and the kindness of strangers such as Joella and Arsh, who offered us water, food, and reprieve from the heat.
Day 3 has reached its completion with many good Samaritans along the way.
As the road gets harder, we pose to wonder the hardships people forced to flee go through. Our #trekforacause doesn't even compare to their journey people embark on seeking safety. @GraceandNelly
Look who joined us! @kareenthompson2020 from @pegcitysteppers just came to walk the last 5/6km with us in this 36°C weather! & a HUGE thanks to @whitneypeg204 for bringing us some much needed water in this heat!! Almost at the finish line for the day!
