Ossoff: "We see a faithless president self-dealing while he depicts as Christ, while he depicts the Obamas as apes, while he plunges the nation into reckless war, sends prices soaring, and plunders our healthcare to cut taxes for those who already have spectacular wealth."
"A wave is building, the kind that comes once a generation, when people have been pushed too far and they decide all at once and all together that enough is enough." – @ossoff
Had a blast going on @WCPO “A New Day” weekend segment to talk about the newly established City of Cincinnati LGBTQIA+ Commission! We’re excited to get to work and make Cincinnati an even more welcoming and inclusive city.
Thanks Myra for having me on!
Remember: it was like pulling teeth to get Republicans to fund the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.
But it took them no time at all to create a $1.8 billion Insurrection Slush Fund to pay off the legal fees of the January 6th rioters who beat cops.
These are sick, corrupt people.
Trump one month before the 2024 election: “Think of it - within one year you’re gonna have electric bills and energy bills and gasoline for your cars is going to be 50% cheaper than it is right now. That’s a big thing.”
Let me get this straight. He’s claiming the economy is strong because credit card spending is surging on gasoline?
No, Kevin. People are using credit cards to get by on groceries, rent and gas. Rising credit card spending isn’t a strong economy — it’s people struggling.
Kevin Hassett: "The consumer is really, really firing on all cylinders…Credit card spending is through the roof. They're spending more on gasoline, but they're spending more on everything else too."
I just gave the commencement address at Paul Quinn College — the oldest HBCU in Texas.
I told them: “You have scrolled through more suffering, division, and chaos than any generation in human history.
But as painful as it may be, your disillusionment is a superpower."
Justice Kagan:
"I dissent. The Voting Rights Act is—or, now more accurately, was—'one of the most consequential, efficacious, and amply justified exercises of federal legislative power in our Nation's history.' It was born of the literal blood of Union soldiers and civil rights marchers. It ushered in awe-inspiring change, bringing this Nation closer to fulfilling the ideals of democracy and racial equality. And it has been repeatedly, and overwhelmingly, reauthorized by the people's representatives in Congress. Only they have the right to say it is no longer needed—not the Members of this Court. I dissent, then, from this latest chapter in the majority's now-completed demolition of the Voting Rights Act."
Great day out in the community at the Hamilton County Youth Employment Day! Thank you to Commissioner Alicia Reece for getting this together and breaking down barriers for our young people to obtain employment, resources, and support.
Republicans want to cut spending on health care for American citizens to fund Trump's disastrous war in Iran. America First is dead and buried under a pile of Epstein files and broken campaign promises.
