For the nation’s 200th birthday, Washington built a metro system, museums, gardens, and reflecting pool at the Capitol.
For the 250th, it’s filled with black fences, white tarps, green algae, and brown grass.
A look at the mess that is DC:

I’m having a hard time coming to grips with the hatred shown between Americans and how many of our civil and political leaders are willing to justify our own citizens being killed by Federal agents in the streets.
Personally, I believe that both Renee Good and Alex Pretti were wrongfully killed and we need to see real accountability now. On top of that, our government's recounting of these events has been awful, it's the kind of stuff we expect out of Russia, not the US.
In fact, the labeling of protestors as terrorists, calling it manufactured dissent and directly contradicting what we can see in public videos is what’s happening in Iran right now.
We need to turn this around, and fast.
When the Democrats take power they need to seriously defang the presidency this time. Put into place safeguards. You can’t just depend on the president being a good person.
Yes, history does matter:
The Kingdom of Denmark has always stood shoulder-to-shoulder w. 🇺🇸. After 9/11, 🇩🇰 answered the US' call. We lost more soldiers in Afghanistan per capita than any other @NATO ally.
Facts matter too:
➡️🇬🇱 has been a part of the Kingdom of Denmark for centuries. That has repeatedly been recognized by 🇺🇸administrations, in the @UN, and internationally.
➡️Only the people of 🇬🇱 should decide their future. A vast majority of Greenlanders voted yes to its self-governing status inside the Kingdom. This week, all five parties in the Parliament of 🇬🇱 repeated they don't want to become 🇺🇸
➡️For 80 years, 🇩🇰🇬🇱 & 🇺🇸 have had a successful security partnership in the Arctic. Let’s continue to address security challenges in the Arctic as partners & allies.
Tapper: Those are officers being attacked on Jan 6th? By this standard, would any of those officers be justified in shooting and killing the people, causing them physical harm?
Noem: When people are physically harming them, they have the authority to arrest those individuals.
Tapper: The president pardoned every single one of them.
Noem: President Trump has been so focused on is making sure that when we're out there, we don't pick and choose which situations are in which laws are enforced and which ones aren'
Tapper: I just showed you video of people attacking law enforcement officers. Undisputed proof, undisputed evidence. And I just said President Trump pardoned all of them. And you said that President Trump is enforcing all the laws equally. It's just not true. There's a different standard for law enforcement officials being attacked. If they're being attacked by trump supporters. We just saw that.
The gutting of PEPFAR is one of the most destructive actions undertaken by any president in modern memory. In terms of deaths caused by stripping it away, it may actually eclipse the war in Iraq.
Removing it was a colossal mistake and the savings netted were minimal.
Step 1: Have DOGE lay off BLS staff so that it cannot collect as much jobs data.
Step 2: Blame BLS when that means jobs estimates must be revised more often.
Step 3: Fire BLS director and replace with a partisan hack to cook the jobs numbers.

As with Trump's absurd cabinet nominees, when any sane GOP Senators could have stood up to Trump to show they weren’t 100% loyal poodles. They concede their power on easy things, then act surprised when Trump ignores them on difficult matters.
A whole lotta people who were in favor of war with Iraq but now pretend they opposed it are suddenly in favor of war with Iran and I’d like them to skip years ahead to the part where they’re against it but this time I’d like to skip the part where we get into an unnecessary war.
