@PenolaStation @DavidSandow1 No mobile phones meant the buyers like Chris Thomas and Bob Rowe were always in our office using phone to their office as they did private paddock sales.
All our sales accounts done by hand with an adding machine.
As dad used to say ' the best bit of the old days is they're gone'

@PenolaStation @DavidSandow1 We used to have livestock sales every Wed in Kingston back then sheep/cattle..and huge off shears sales in Dec.
A lot of stock was trucked out on rail post sale..being 6'4" i hated the sheep vans and being the junior i aleays copped bottom deck!
Semi's were single trailer.

I am utterly heartbroken to learn of the passing of my very special friend Peter Mertens.
Am going to miss our regular phone chats.
We came thru a very special time together when Pete was managed by Deane and we all shared some great times and success together.
R.I.P Pete 😢

Today is Mount day ....prov status....$22k races.
