The visit served as a celebration of Catherine's grueling National Three Peaks Challenge. By scaling Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales within a strict 24-hour window, she used her physical recovery as a powerful message of hope to "explore life beyond diagnosis" and give back directly to her dedicated medical team.

The funds raised through the challenge will go toward constructing the hospital's groundbreaking new Centre for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery ❤️‍🩹

This dedicated facility will provide comprehensive, whole-person support—addressing patients' emotional, spiritual, and social well-being alongside traditional medicine.

Additionally, the funding will support clinical research to assess how these complementary treatments can be integrated seamlessly to benefit cancer patients nationwide.

During the poignant engagement, she spent time with frontline staff and current patients undergoing treatment.

Expressing her deep personal gratitude, she noted, "This was my small way of being able to give back and say thank you to you.

I had incredible care here... and the therapeutic support on the outside is so important."

Princess Catherine reviewed the architectural plans for the facility and toured the exact physical site where the new wellness centre will be built.

To close her visit, she spent time speaking one-on-one with patients currently undergoing treatment in the medical day unit.

Because of her own public experience with the disease, the interactions were deeply personal.

Patients noted that Catherine connected with them as a peer rather than a royal, holding open conversations about the shared vulnerabilities of motherhood and the "mind-body" impact of navigating a diagnosis.

As one patient later reflected, "I forgot that she was a Princess. I was just talking to every other cancer patient who has been in this ward." 🥹💚
