Year 2 completed their final art piece today inspired by the work of their focus artist Beatriz Milhazes. Our completed collages are extremely impressive. We think Beatriz would approve.

Today in Science we used our senses to describe different types of food. We talked about what makes a healthy diet and where on the ‘Eatwell Guide’ each type of food belonged. @StPPPrimary
We have been learning about ‘Local Heroes’ in Y2. Today we were joined by Andy Reid from @AndyReidMBE_STF who told us his story and how he decided to help those in need! Andy Reid, a true St Helens hero! @StPPPrimary
Today we had a visit from our Paths coach Lisa. She completed a fun Paths lesson with us all about the feeling of being lonely. We talked about a time when we had felt lonely and how we can help others when they are lonely.

During RE, Year 2 confessed something which they were sorry for, we wrote these confessions on hearts and washed them in water. The water washed away our sins, as the Holy water washes away sins during Baptism. We wrote prayers to God asking for forgiveness ❤️

This afternoon in Art, Year 2 used oil pastels and strips of coloured paper to experiment with collage techniques. We are now ready to create our final piece based on the work of Beatriz Milhazes next week.
In RE this week, we have been retelling the ‘Baptism of Jesus’ through drama. We have spoken about how God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are present in this piece of scripture. @StPPPrimary
During Art, Year 2 continued their work inspired by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes. Today we focused our work on exploring colour and patterns within her pieces.
Year 2 enjoyed using role play to create freeze frames showing different parts of our vehicle text. We used our role play to help us gather ideas for our own narratives 🏝️ 📕
During Art, Year 2 have been looking at the colour wheel. We talked about primary, secondary and tertiary colours. We enjoyed mixing our colours to create all of the colours on our colour wheel 🎨
We have been learning about the ‘Advent Wreath’ and how it helps us prepare for Christmas. We spent some time today in prayer asking God to help us wait patiently and use this time to help others. @StPPPrimary@PatriciaPeel1
