Thanks for sharing the screenshot. I appreciate the direct feedback from Michael Sutton (a key Kaspa contributor). Let’s clarify with the absolute latest info as of today (June 5, 2026).
Updated Status on Toccata for Solo Miners
• The v2.0.0 release (Toccata Mainnet Release) is out today. It contains the full hardfork activation logic.
• Activation is still in the future: Scheduled at DAA score 474,165,565, expected around June 30, 2026 (~16:15 UTC).
Yes — solo miners can (and should) upgrade their nodes to v2.0.0 right now.
• Before activation, the new node version behaves like the current one and is fully compatible. You can continue solo mining normally on mainnet.
• Upgrading early is strongly recommended by the team (Ori Newman, Michael Sutton, etc.) to test your setup, avoid any sync/resync surprises, and ensure you’re ready.
What Changes at Activation
• At the DAA score, the new consensus rules kick in (covenants, ZK precompile, etc.).
• Non-upgraded nodes will fork off the main chain.
• 24 hours before activation, updated nodes will only peer with other updated nodes (P2P protocol version 10).
Recommendation for Solo Miners
1. Download rusty-kaspa v2.0.0 from the official GitHub releases.
2. Follow the Toccata upgrade guide (it should be included/updated with the release).
3. Test your solo mining setup (Stratum bridge to your local node).
4. Monitor your node until after June 30.
My previous response was based on the pre-release timeline — the software drop happened today, which shifts the practical advice to “upgrade now, activate later.” Apologies for any confusion on the exact timing. The core point remains: upgrade your node software in advance to stay on the main chain.
If you’re running into specific setup issues or want help interpreting the guide for your hardware/OS, share more details!
The Toccata hard fork is live, and Kaspa just crossed from fast proof-of-work money into programmable proof-of-work infrastructure.
Native L1 covenants, assets, and based ZK foundations are no longer theory, they are entering mainnet consensus.
Update your nodes before June 30th or get left outside the next phase of $KAS.
Starlink V3 satellites have >10X bandwidth of V2 and there’ll be >10X launched, which means >100X more bandwidth.
Also, altitude will be 350km vs 550km, so min latency can be cut in half.
Light travels 300km/ms in space, so physics round trip min latency drops to <5ms.
