Hello all. A quick update from me.
My sex screen assay is progressing well.
I promised rapid: I can detect SRY from a cheek swab in about 30 minutes. I am currently testing whether I can drop it to 10 minutes without compromising reliability.
I promised cheap: The current cost per assay is about £2. I am currently testing whether I can drop this to below the pound line, and it’s very promising.
I promised accessible: The assay could be run by any grassroots sports coach, school nurse, and my Mum.
I promised on-site: This is where my lab efforts are currently focussed. I’ve always held “from the UK to Uganda” as a principle, and ensuring easy deployment is crucial. I’m currently learning a lot of materials science…
The other main push is setting up various blinded, larger-scale tests. This will require lots of form filling.
If anyone wants to help me hit my final budget target, my crowdfunder is here.

MEN AND WOMEN PREFER SINGLE SEX PROVISION
A very clear and consistent poll result 👇 that demonstrates what we all know. Men and women overwhelmingly prefer privacy, dignity and safety in the presence of their own sex in changing rooms and toilets. Ask a clear question: they gave a clear answer!
This is an important point. The Federal Appeal Court adopted contested activist language throughout the Giggle v Tickle judgment which is nowhere to be found in the Federal Sex Discrimination Act. That speaks volumes.
"Politicians, unions and others currently outraged by the corrected EHRC Code of Practice don’t realise what they are asking for (or do they?) when they insist the law must be changed. They are actually asking for a repeal of parts of the Equality Act – the parts which protect women and gay people – because these cannot co-exist with a law which mandates self-choice of sex. The people with their ‘Trans Rights’ placards are demanding that legislation which protects women is rolled back to pre-1975."
I wrote about the strange claims from some people about women's rights and 'trans rights' and how the Supreme Court judgement and the new EHRC Code of Practice has resolved all the arguments!
