Yeah I got the cable privilege and learned to draw because of anime. But I was a kid minding my own damn business and still got called weirdo / isip-bata because I’m almost high school and still love anime that’s supposedly for kids only.
As a private catholic school girlie I was BULLIED for the ff:
- liking/watching/drawing anime.
- Reading ALOT of books.
- liking and playing videogames.
- the cherry on top was I WORE GLASSES.
I was called a “weirdo” and a “nerd”.
My entire elem-HS life was TORTURE.
THESE KIDS JUST CLOWNED ON ME FOR SAYING TWITTER INSTEAD OF X OMFG ???????????? WE'RE LOSING THE PLOT WE'RE LOSING THE ANCIENT SCRIPTURES THE CHILDREN R BEING LEFT BEHIND
The real tragedy of living in a third-world country is that you can do everything right and still struggle because the environment is designed to make ordinary things unnecessarily difficult.
the pinoys who cry about being bullied for liking anime are probably not telling the whole story
I bet 5 pesos they were the pretentious ones who got access to cable and got AXN/WOWOW or the insufferable ones insisting on JP names of Pokemon during a match of Teks
Everyone hyped this woman up for the past year for looking like a fairy and mermaid... the moment she drops a video with that exact vibe everyone is like wooow she's reheating her own nachos... everyone is so ungrateful omg
why can people not understand that enjoying something in fiction does not equate to supporting it irl. ah yes. let me go read my book with perfect characters who do nothing wrong ever. how boring would that be. give me more morally reprehensible characters
