@cat_johnson A lot of people say that PRH won't use their trademark against authors, but if it's just to "protect their imprint", then why did they file for all the rights, fiction, non-fiction, any font, any usage on books or ebooks. From my understanding, trademarks have to be defended?

I don't know if RWA is salvageable but I do think we in the genre need some way to organize and collectively act when publishers don't pay their authors and editors, when Amazon rolls out a new program that pays authors literal pennies, for when someone tries to trademark "alpha"
