Should there be environmental impact assessments on large gatherings that take into account the devastation of people travelling miles and miles, compacting the soil, making it ok to leave stuff because the litter pickers will pick it all up, etc?
Really Looking forward to these events with CuriousAgenda.
All plastics found in the environment have a story.
What stories will we find...

Well done team.
Stepping beyond the easy & quick feel good moments, this can be dirty, cold, uncomfortable work with little instant reward.
But it is necessary. How else can we stop plastic pollution returning if we do not know what it is in the first place?
The Strandliners team at work. Identifying and recording our environmental pollution is increasingly important.
We can lobby for change when we have the data. Everyone can take part.

The Strandliners team are very happy to be part of the #oceansymposium organised by the @UNAClimateandOceans @SussexWildlife @CommunitySupporters
Let’s talk, discuss and leave enthused for the future.
Just one of many events this week. The clouds threatened but we stayed dry.
Amazing volunteers keep me going, wonderful support & humour in these dark days

A #Bioblitz is where we identify & record as many species as possible in a given time.
Why not join our #Plasticblitz along the #RiverRother, identify & record all the plastic species we find.
Who will find 'Vapus disposibalis' or 'Packus crispus'?

Thanks to all who joined the Big Seaweed Searches at Eastbourne’s Spring Water Festival. Great to explore the rock pools and discover the flora and fauna there. @NaturaHistoryMuseum @mcsuk
We can all be citizen scientists.

Why? Why? Why? @WhichUK consumer magazine has lost the plot?
The environment needs to be the priority here, not us humans.
Yes you talk about the pros & cons but please don't continue with planet destructive articles.

Fantastic Blue Planet @Eastbourne Conference
Great #marineconservation discussion...
Some unanswered questions...
"How to increase take up of #recycling with future new materials, if only <50% now?"
"How to reduce exports of our #rubbish and deal with it ourselves?"

Adult Black-crowned Night Heron. Seen from south east Hydneye Lake, Shinewater, Eastbourne. 13:50 on 16/05. 3 flight passes as if looking to land. Others apparently saw it flying over lake 14:00 as well. @SussexBirding
