We’re building a DAC facility! It’s going to make freshwater while removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. 💪🏗️💪 better watch out CO2, we’re coming for you!
📢 We are pleased to announce that @_Capture6 has been awarded a grant from @CalEnergy under the Commercialization Industrial Decarbonization (CID) Program. The grant is valued at over $8M - the largest sum awarded in the round.
I 💯 agree with this. Hope is so powerful, and working towards reversing climate change feeds that hope for me daily. We can do this.

I hope the reviewer who called my proposal high risk/high reward is having a great Friday afternoon. May your cocktail be refreshing, only good hair days for you the rest of the month, and random discounts on your favorite snacks at the grocery. 🕯️🧚🏻💅🏼☔️
We can’t have ocean CDR without MRV, and we can’t have MRV without background measurements of surface ocean CO₂.
SOCAT is the only public surface ocean CO₂ database and it needs funding.
Ocean CDR folks, reach out to @Dorothee_Bakker to help. 💶
Learn more about our design for a first-of-its-kind advanced water treatment demonstration facility for @PalmdaleH2O with carbon removal startup @_Capture6. The project will remove #carbon using #brine and direct air capture technology. https://t.co/UEk6nx5vrx
People: The cost of carbon credits is too high. We need to bring it down for this technology to take off.
Gucci: No. It’s too low. Make it over $3,000,000 a ton and they will love it. https://t.co/7prLbjV4xe
We've updated the @carbonplanorg CDR Verification Framework to include three new pathways!
- Direct ocean removal
- Alkaline waste mineralization
- Biochar
You can find details about the new pathways (and additional tweaks we made) here: https://t.co/iFimM2JNCh
Fawn encourages us to reach out and work with indigenous nations, but also respect their knowledge and wisdom. With intention, strategy and heart, follow young leaders and follow the teachings. #OVS23
Good morning from day 3 of @Ocean_Visions I am so excited to hear from Fawn Sharp, the President of the National Congress of American Indians. She’s talking about working with tribes to ensure ocean climate solutions can “grow up right” #OVS23
Emerging and best practices are traditional indigenous practices. And if you invest with indigenous people- you can take it to the bank. They WILL restore salmon, they WILL treat water as a precious resource. There is leadership and bold political and moral standing. #OVS23
The community effort led by @jpGattuso and @AOschlies to write a Guide to Best Practices in Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement Research as a form of ocean CO₂ removal (CDR) has a website.
You can see the planned chapters, including one on MRV.
