@ghosttowndownn i feel like writers (and creators in general) have started to trust their audience a lot less which leads to over explaining and repetition which reads very juvenile to me
People need to stop treating reading as fandom. If you like a book, take note so you can pick up the author’s next book if it appeals. But you need to stop getting ATTACHED to authors. This parasocial style of media interaction is crippling your ability to engage with fiction.
we can examine people’s favoritism with claudia’s actresses especially re: colorism but i feel like sometimes there’s a level of overcorrection where in trying to validate delainey’s claudia you then minimize bailey as if she doesn’t count at all
multiple times i've seen people be like "it's actually so awesome that tamsyn muir justifies tumblr humor and writing style in-universe!" as if that's not a profoundly embarrassing thing to do in your traditionally published adult novel
I think if you want to enjoy a mid book because it has fun tropes and representation that’s fantastic im in full support. but the rest of us shouldn’t have to pretend like it’s shakespeare
Y’all never consider that reading the book at your own pace could mean that the pace is fast!! Y’all just interpret it to mean slow bc it makes you feel better about yourself. Fix your inferiority complex
i think having any POV preference for a book is kinda silly. it’s the mindset of a consumer expecting to be catered to, rather than that of a reader who’s open to anything good.
need asoiaf fans to stop being aware of bailey bass matter of fact everyone get less aware of her now none of you care about claudia de pointe du lac de lioncourt eparvier
