This is really hard to write but so many of you have loved and cared about Ben that I wanted to let you know. We found out today the cancer had spread throughout Bens organs and there was nothing left we could do-we had to let him go. I’ve had dogs my whole life but Ben was 1 on 1. He was smart-loving-gentle-patient-inquisitive-and welcoming to all. Always a big smile and a soft tail wag. He and I could communicate..he and I understood each other and had each others backs. He was with me more than anyone at home and traveling with me for work. Such an easy going companion. Hard day-but he will live within all of us forever. God please bless his majestic soul and thank you for putting him in my life for the last 10 years-a true blessing.
Love you Ben. 🙏🏼

Sidney Crosby will go down as the Pittsburgh athlete with the longest consequential playing surface impact. From statistics, setting ice/off ice example, productive durability, his deferring to Malkin to suppress egos, and sacrifice of personal wealth, he has no peer. He has surpassed Honus Wagner, Clemente, Stargell, and any Steeler (who, because of the sport are more short term comets and the 70s Steelers were LOADED. A fake punt and injuries prevented 6 Super Bowls) as a long term generation force. Football is still the strongest cultural force in Pittsburgh and so it is weighted in its favor for mass appeal, but as a singular model, Crosby stands alone. Which is something considering Mario set an unsurpassable statistical mountain (he played in the best era to score in NHL history with no salary cap, and 66 is probably the most physically talented offensive force) and twice saved the franchise from relocation. Perhaps, they are best linked as their careers were, but 87 has his own, unique lane that's fascinating in the internet/social media era.
I have defended the Artie Smith hire today because I despise people talking in definites as if they know 100% that its a bad hire. Could be a great hire, could be terrible, none of us know for sure right now. In the end it doesnt matter who is calling plays if you dont get good QB play.

“Denzel Ward walked in our locker room & walked right by me. And I’m like, what the hell is he coming in our locker room for?
And he walked by me & he tapped Ja'Marr Chase on the leg, and said, ‘Lace ’em up, it’s gonna be a long f–-king game.”
