@odetojuliette He closed his eyes, leaning into her soft touch. “I do everything I can to keep you and our family safe. I don’t want you to doubt that for even a second,” he whispered. He opened his eyes to look at her. “I love you.”

@odetojuliette “No, no, no. I know you’re not unhappy. I’m just reminding you. Through all of this, you’re my priority.”

He finally looked towards her, smiling again. It was still a tired one. “Everything I do is for you and our children,” he said softly.

@odetojuliette “You know you’re my priority?” he said abruptly. “All this, it’s. . . A privilege, sure. But. You’re my priority.”

He looked down at the dainty teacup in his hand. “I never want you to forget that.”

@odetojuliette “Just barely,” he said as he checked his watch. He was quiet for several minutes as he enjoyed the tea and the peaceful stillness. Eventually, he spoke—

“I know I haven’t been around much. . . Not just physically, but mentally.”

@odetojuliette He took the cup and had a slow sip. “Thank you, First Lady Hunt,” he said lightly. “It was busy. But productive, yes. Glad it’s over though.”
