Sad news - the old hollow yellow cedar snag beside the board-walk in Paradise meadows toppled in the high winds at the beginning of December. Hundreds of toddlers ( and others) have crawled into it since the new route around the Meadows was put in about 10 years ago or so.🙁

Happy #InternationalMountainDay from #VancouverIsland ’s highest peak- The Golden Hinde! Taken from the top of one of Strathcona Park’s most famous summits at 2,197 meters. It was first ascended in 1913 by W.R. Kent & Einar Anderson during the initial survey of Strathcona Park ⛺️
