Dolly was born in East Tennessee and used her success to make it better. So much money from her attractions and fame came into our mountain communities and was put into schools and infrastructure. She made the Imagination Library to help childhood literacy in Appalachia. Every month since our daughter was born, the library has sent her a book with a note from Dolly encouraging her to be proud of where she’s from and to learn the importance of the stories that built us. Her husband passed last year and she spoke of being reunited with him. I’m glad heaven is a little sweeter, and sings a little better for it. Rest in peace to the Queen of Appalachia, Jolene could never.
yall said i was being too sensitive but turning this man into a meme and appalachian culture into a meme is deeply disrespectful. nimrod workman worked tirelessly to make the world a better place for other working class people to come and he deserves to be remembered that way.
Everybody should Just Ruin Their Lives and Get Really Lazy and Fat and Retarded and Stop Going to Their Jobs and Just Eat a Bunch of Dinner and Meals and Smoke Weed and Drink Beer and Lay Down and Go To Sleep Until Everything Gets Better
The Beatles 'White Album' is ultimately about fatigue of every kind: physical, spiritual, political and cultural. A soundtrack to the tedious indulgences of the 60's yielding only false prophets and dark portents. You say you want a revolution. It's been a long, long, long, time.
people genuinely believe 9/11 was an act of the devil that came out of nowhere due to zero circumstances. there are never potential consequences for any actions of the american government
That woman is 100% right and she should say it. I have no issues with people coming into hobbies wanting to learn and be open-minded. I have a problem with people who refuse to integrate, complain about everything, and then get mad when you tell them not to engage.
Watters: You think it’s ok to slash a ding-a-ling off
El-Sayed: Do you really want to have this conversation? Are you circumcised?
Watters: Yeah
El-Sayed: Then you probably want to move on.
This has always been funny to me. The Beatles grew up working-class and were the ones who knew how to handle themselves in a fistfight, whereas the Stones had significantly-cushier upbringings. But the former were marketed as cuddly mop-tops and the latter were pushed as Bad Boys
So the dude responsible for the “cry it out” method had almost all of his children attempt suicide before they reached adulthood. John B. Watson. He later wrote that he regretted having written in the area of child-rearing because he “did not know enough.”
