@forces_at_work@ourpurveyor I was really into this scene in HS/early college and was really shaken up when Harris Wittels died. The perpetual adolescent thing in LA is real and this scene is no exception
@McGillPatterson Postliberals are pretty good at getting close to power but very bad at persuasion and changing culture. Pappin is a classic contrarian campus conservative whose main job is to antagonize. You think president Vance is gonna snap his fingers and turn the US into a theocracy?
@catholicpat This is an awful bill, and I’d bet many of the women in this picture have children they love. Go ahead and double down but these kind of bills should be a moment for pro lifers to think about why they lost rather than just seething and name calling
@novussubsole Do you see ground troops happening or is that a red line? Wondering if he’ll just oscillate between diplomatic pauses and strikes and never escalate to a full war
@credenzaclear2 Homeschooling is awesome if you have parents who can do it well, a good community, and you never truly leave that community. My friend who teaches at a classical type school says that homeschooled kids from big families tend to have more academic/focus issues than other kids
@MESabo86 Sure, but the issue is that all the based staffers are unable to moderate their views or communication style, which leads to alienating ordinary people and appearing like an odd and intense subculture rather than a movement ordinary people want to join
@credenzaclear2 What’s always baffled me is Trump people’s confidence that they will win and transform culture while completely ignoring public opinion and aggressively alienating people. Complete inability to moderate means that people just tune out and dislike you
