So instead of acknowledging Asian talent in the main music categories, the Grammys have decided to box them into their own category under the guise of inclusivity. Very convenient too, considering how BTS has absolutely dominated this year’s pop categories
mind u nothing get more whimsical than what its categorized as “ghetto”
long/extravagant nails, dramatic makeup, colorful/creative hair, grillz, etc. all things tied to creativity and whimsy yet called ghetto. once again, it started with black (esp african american) people.
i’m glad joon talked about how he really cares about lyrics and how important it is to read/understand them. i genuinely think everyone should take a trip to doolset’s page and read the lyrics for arirang and their other works
“it happens to everyone” except no, because no one else had an entire government trying to hold onto them for political and economic benefit while dangling exemption discourse for years. nobody wanted BTS enlisted separately more than the people benefiting from keeping them apart. and yet BTS still chose to go together, for armys, so they could return together. the maknae line could’ve waited years, but they didn’t.
and the second BTS removed every last bit of leverage people had over them, the media campaign went into overdrive: “next BTS”, “BTS is over”, “the hype is dying”. except now they’re back and somehow even bigger than before they left.
BTS is the peak. there is no replacing them, and there is no separating BTS from BTS.
