8. The IP Court sided with Starbucks. Pinsky has two month to appeal.

1. On May 14, 2025 the IP Court (Russia) issued very important decision regarding the STARBUCKS trademarks. 

In 2022 restaurateur Pinsky bought out all of Starbucks’ assets and changed the name of the coffee shops to Stars Coffee.

7. P.S. Rather surprising outcome. The marks are extremely similar. The Russian PTO found them to be confusingly similar. But the strategy of Starbucks was to prove that the marks can coexist in the Russian market, otherwise it would have led to cancellation of 7 trademarks.
