Before ever attempting even the easiest climbs in the Flatirons solo I had climbed them many times over years (even Alex Honnold climbs his solo routes on ropes first). I want everyone to be able to enjoy these beautiful mountains in a safe way ❤️

I shared a bit about this on Strava, as one of many w/in the climbing community who've been alarmed by unprepared folks on flatiron climbs recently. Climbing without ropes is *serious*, and getting in over your head isn't just scary, but can put other climbers lives at risk.

The flatirons are for everyone, climbing is for everyone, and we can all have stressful days where our head gets at us. But IMO its imperative that b4 EVER climbing no rope (free solo/soloing) you're a strong climber, & proficient w, and strongly respects safety wrt roped climbs.
