I hear it all the time: when you get to the next level, you will be expect d to do xyz better and it will be harder— then i see this kind of stuff. Be the start of things getting harder and you will put the kids back on the right path. Quit waiting for the next person to do it.
A Berkeley history professor says he’s cut assigned reading from 100 pages a week to just 35.
Another said that a course which once required students to read seven full books now consists entirely of excerpts.
“We are now reaching a crisis point where if the number of pages goes down further, it’s unclear to me whether my discipline of history can really be taught.”
The attention span crisis is a civilization crisis.
@UofBbaseball@Jeff_M_Wall If you’re maxing out inseason and playing within 24-48 hours, that is different than benching heavy inseason. People hear heavy and they don’t think they can lift rel high %— 80-85% for 2-3 is different than for 6, no? Rest time before games still makes a difference
Just take him off the team and give him the support he needs for his addiction.
Acting like you can only take care of him if he is on your roster is disingenuous and, frankly, gross.
@CoachNoon45 A5) train at home right after lunch. I was dx with RA last year so I’m always chomping at the bit to train now that I’ve started my treatment. #ironspeedchat
@CoachNoon45 A4) we include competition in our speed/agility work. I try to include at least one exercise each day that is well liked by most. #ironspeedchat
@CoachNoon45 A3) we stress the importance of consistency. I try to relate it to their sport/interests. I tell them stories of people that I have had on both ends of the spectrum. #ironspeedchat
@CoachNoon45 A2) I’ll have conversations with those kids and most times, attendance dips because they are out of town. Some kids just quit coming. I just train those who are there. If they miss for a while, I’d adjust the intensity. #ironspeedchat
@CoachNoon45 A1) with larger groups, I have to plan to have a main lift at the rack and a main lift at the platform. After that, I consider flow. Beyond that, it’s building up weak points #ironspeedchat
@ZacGoodman_@CoachLoweIA I’ve run APRE programming and liked the results with students but was unable to take lifts that close to failure on my own. Started BMT and have seen my numbers jump again! Running a cycle now before our summer break with the kids too. Anxious to see the results!
@ZacGoodman_ Changing direction for squats too. I’ve noticed this same outcome to be pretty consistent so I’ve started pushing and type of hinge and squats based on the kids splits.
