20/6/24 Chilterns Many thanks to @HardyOrchidSoc and @BBOWT for organising a superb trip to see one of my bucket-list plants: the red helleborines looked stunning @Britainsorchids @ukorchids
16/6/24 Back to Pewsey Downs this time in the sun. Saw some pristine bee and striking alba common-spotted orchids. Also great to see quite a few marsh fritillaries on the wing @savebutterflies @Britainsorchids @ukorchids@HardyOrchidSoc#wiltshire
14/6/24 Pewsey Downs tried to dodge the showers to see early gentian - no joy. However, abundance of orchids: CSO, fragrant, bee, LBO, frog, pyramidal (just into flower) made up for getting soaked @Britainsorchids @ukorchids#naturereserve
17/5/24 Aigas Field Centre lesser twayblades were like buses today, wait ages to find one and then get three in quick succession @aigas @Britainsorchids @HardyOrchidSoc@ukorchids
11/5/24 Great morning on Selsley Common Stroud with some pristine fly orchids and after some helpful guidance the bee x fly orchid hybrids @Britainsorchids @HardyOrchidSoc@ukorchids#orchid#stroud
5/5/24 A rather damp but very pleasant stroll around Rodborough Common this afternoon. Still hundreds of EPOs although many now going over however sword-leaved helleborine coming into flower. Great to also spot a few pasqueflowers. @ukorchids @Britainsorchids @HardyOrchidSoc
@theboygriffin@ukorchids @Britainsorchids About 4 in flower, saw 1 blind rosette. Someone else there said there were some along a bit and nearer the top last year - but no sign of those
4/3/24 Oxfordshire Made the most of the sunshine today and popped back to see how the giant orchids (Himantoglossum robertianum) were progressing #orchids@ukorchids @Britainsorchids
Best day yet of Naturetrekโs trip to Antarctica โ it was all about the whales ... and the seals ... and stepping on the Antarctic mainlandโฆ @naturetrektours#whale#Antarctica
Despite seeing A23a, the world's largest iceberg, and having numerous whale encounters, it was great to get off the boat today and see chinstrap penguins. Within touching distance of Antarctica mainland. @naturetrektours#iceberg#penguin
Naturetrek's Antarctica trip continues to deliver some stunning sightings and wildlife spectacles in the Falkland Islands and South Georgia @naturetrektours # falklandislands #southgeorgia#penguin#albatross
