College Athletes: I’m not in the advice business, but here’s what I can tell you about BOOZE.
Context: I didn’t drink in HS, hardly did Fr-So yrs of college. (Also have spent the last 7 years completely sober.) Thread👇
-No one else cares if you drink.
-If they do, that says more about them than you. (Thread…)
-You won’t have any regrets from not drinking, can’t say the same otherwise.
-You might not realize it, probably won’t, but people admire the shit out of people who don’t booze.
-You probably won’t notice at first, but your body won’t heal as fast if you’re partying.
-Injuries will start to happen from being constantly dehydrated. -This includes torn ligaments, sprains & pulled muscles.
-More importantly, you need to learn how to handle life without running to a bottle (an excuse a lot of us use).
Last, I’m not telling you how to live your life. (My players can tell you that preaching is not my thing.) But if you find yourself needing to drink or smoke up to get back to “neutral”, talk to someone-honestly a stranger works best for this-and see if it helps.
As always, this is a judgement free zone & we check our egos at the door.
With Love,
SwagnShades

This view of Cam Schuelke pitching for College of Central Florida is incredibly satisfying to watch. He is one of the best weird arm slot guys in college baseball if you ask me
Austin Strickland (‘23 Eligible) pitched far better than his 4.05 ERA. He showed a strong 4-pitch mix and allowed 1 ER over his last 16.1 IP w/ the @harborhawks. Strick looks to be a Top 10 rounder in next year’s draft.

It's likely Nolan Schanuel is the best baseball player you've never heard of. The @FAUBaseball slugger has been a mainstay on leaderboards for years now. Schanuel may have the best approach in the country with big juice. A premier name for the 2023 Draft.

Two intriguing arms from @UKBaseball had strong summers with @harborhawks 💪
LHP Magdiel Cotto and RHP @stricky_a have been relievers for the Wildcats, but showed potential to become impact starters.

“He totally sold me on the whole thing,” said @darvari_mazdak. “He told us we were going to be super involved and that we were going to build this thing together.”

Austin Strickland, Kentucky (‘23 elig), started going 5 with 7H 1ER (3R) 1BB and 5K. The righty worked with a FB, CR (76/78), SL (81/83), and CH (86/89). Fastball was 90/92 early on but grew stronger and was 93/94 later. Curve was his best secondary and most Ks came on breakers
