Stride for Stride is an NPO running org that buys race bibs for immigrant, BIPOC & low-income runners. Goal is to make races more accessible & more diverse.
We did it! Yesterday, my kidney donor (Jorge) and I ran the #NYCMarathon 10 months after our kidney transplant in January! Thank you to kidney donors for giving us the gift of life & ability to do great things again - like running the NYC Marathon. Don’t ever give up. #DonateLife
.@StrideForStride founder Tom O’Keefe, a @BostonCollege graduate who has run the #BostonMarathon 5 times, has written a book about the kidney donation he received from a Stride for Stride runner: 'Kindness: How a Simple Act of Kindness Can Save Your Life.' https://t.co/ZQK1YnU3cw
Thank you to everyone who donated to @StrideForStride via #WalkingBoston since the post on 2/9/24. Thanks to your generosity, $795 was donated to this wonderful mission during that period. A total of $1,600 has been raised towards my goal of $10K. https://t.co/0y4SgHsCcF
I usually keep my birthday private, but this year I’m celebrating it (Feb 10) by inspiring donations to a Boston non-profit that is extremely important to me, Boston, & the lives of many, @StrideForStride. Please read and share this incredible story...

@StrideForStride is a non-profit running organization that buys race bibs for immigrant, BIPOC, & low-income runners. Founder & member of Stride for Stride, Tom O’Keefe, & group member, Ramón “The Cowboy Runner" Ballesteros, were among the many who raced the @BAA DM in 2023.🦄
Please meet my superhero, Jorge. I met Jorge at the 2019 Cambridge Half Marathon when he ran his first race with Team @StrideForStride. At the time I didn’t know that I would soon be diagnosed with CKD and I also didn’t know that I would soon need a kidney transplant.
Andamos haciendo cosas bien chingonas, especialmente haciendo visible y mas fuerte nuestra participación en el deporte. #LatinoPower

We are doing great things, specially making more strong and visible our running participation. Thanks for the invitation, Tom @BostonTweet
My thanks to @BostonTweet and his team for sharing their stories with me. It was such a boost to be with them… and we will be sure to share the news when Tom gets his kidney!
