Jermain Defoe has spoken of Steven Gerrard "crying uncontrollably" after Rangers sealed a 55th league title.

The former England international has been discussing his spell at Ibrox.

"I remember sitting at the training ground, and when that final whistle went, of course, the feeling was unbelievable. I remember turning around and the gaffer was sitting over there with the staff. I looked at him and he burst into tears," he said in a new interview with the Warm Up.

“He was crying uncontrollably and that’s how much it meant to him. A Champions League winner, and he burst into tears. I looked at him and thought: ‘You know what, this is massive.’ Not just for us, but for everyone.”

@RobbieHalliday3 Been a huge issue for years, same here in USA

[Hugo Perez @HugoPerezDT]

We keep arguing about pay to play in America, which has nothing to do with the real football, we prefer physical, strong , fast players, instead of finding technical creative players that can win a game in a 10x10 space, then you can surround them w the phy, stro, fast players

Hope. 🙏💙🕊
We've been back in Scotland for a few days.
On the flight home, what struck me was just how welcoming Americans are. I had reservations before going because of Trump, ICE, Palestine, etc. But what we found was that it didn't matter whether black/white, left/right, rich/poor, all the Americans we met were extremely hospitable & welcoming. (Thank you!🙏)
I think if we could get more common people talking with common people, & get the politicians out of the way, we would have a much better world.
America, the football results didn't go our way, but to paraphrase Casablanca, "We will always have Boston." 😘

Can I tell you something honest? You just get a bad rap from the media. The media makes it out as there is always something bad going on.

It's a fantastic country, you made us feel welcomed.

This is rather lovely.

Heart of Midlothian is on the verge of breaking four decades of dominance by Celtic and Rangers with one of the most improbable campaigns Scottish soccer has ever seen. https://t.co/8YMad6sGgI

Don't worry, your eyes are not deceiving you

You might think this is actually prime Barcelona but it's actually Lowland League leaders Clydebank with a brilliant goal in their 4-0 win over Broxburn Athletic!

Top quality football! 👏

Tiki Taka'nın en gelişmiş hali! Bu golü Pep Guardiola'nın yönettiği Barcelona değil, İskoç 5. liginde mücadele eden küçük kasaba takımı Clydebank attı. Bütün teknik direktörlerin hayallerini süsleyen bir gol.

70% fewer headers in France. 50% fewer in England, Czech 60%, Sweden, Norway, Denmark all fewer headers. What’s going on in Scotland?

(This is per capita. There are more Scots who go to watch football per head of the population than in virtually any other country.)

[Derek Rae @RaeComm]

For anyone not from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 still not understanding it. Scottish football really matters in Scotland. More Scots go to watch football weekly than in virtually any other country.
This brings intense media pressure & not just for Celtic & Rangers managers.
Not every country has this.
