#DigiTechS22A One big takeaway from this course is how dependent I am on social media and other digital technology. I never thought of myself to be big on these things, but have realized it is where I turn when I am struggling. I would like to limit this in the future.
@kerryebates I think it is such a cool invention for our devices to be able to hear, understand, and communicate with us. Many people have lights in their homes which are also voice activated. Many appliances have added this feature and some people have turned their homes into 'smart homes'.
@YangBertran I agree! I remember first hearing of 3D printers and how foreign the concept was. Now, I personally know someone who has built and uses their own 3D printer very often. It has become so practical for him.
@AndrewJEpstein1 I wonder if this will ultimately have an impact on mental health and if people will struggle due to the decrease in physical interaction.
#DigiTechS22A With society continuing to rely heavily and participate in mostly online buying and selling, I think many stores are going to be forced out of business. This will have an impact on the job industry and change the selection of work that people have.
#DigiTechS22A My EDTP topic is social media. Society's priorities continue to shift and one thing after the next becomes present within social media. We're experiencing changes within our social lives, academics and careers because of our immense interaction with this technology.
@MarkCher01 It is interesting to see the older generations becoming more involved in the digital world. This goes against the stereotype of most social media users being from younger generations. However, many older people who were more vulnerable to the virus needed to keep busy & interact.
@DcimOlivia It is crazy how many companies who specialized in print media have had to completely change their way of operating to adjust to the new norms. This is true for the movie and television industry as well because of streaming sites.
@jkasica30 I can remember when I first made a lot of my social media accounts people would post very different things than they would now. Over time, people have a greater understanding that what goes on the internet is permanent.

The norm of paying for cable or satellite TV continues to fade. Many credit this to the ability to access ANYTHING on streaming sites, some say prices have risen too high, and there are those who just don't have the time for TV anymore.
@RobChitt @AOC I like the way that she makes sure to update the media and her followers on the impact being made to motivate people to keep taking steps in the right direction.
@PaigeNugentRU@victoriagarrick It's so important to have these types of leaders today because many people struggle with mental health and body image due to what they see in the media.

Balkovec preaches to LSU Softball that there is no way to the top besides through hard work. She has goals to change the world and be a role model for many.
A true leader for women in sports. Not only does @_rachelbalkovec believe in herself, but she pushes everyone to believe they can do the same. She exemplifies using "today's tools to channel an increasing thirst to participate" (Heimans & Timms 7). #LIDCS22_90
“I want to be a visible idea for young women. I want to be a visible idea for dads that have daughters. I want to be out there.”
