This man, along with others before him, didn’t just take care of Alabama while he was there…he build something that could sustain his departure.

Saban knew that upon his exit, the fat would trim itself, and with the right person as a successor, the mountain upon which Alabama sits wouldn’t crumble. This is why he was so instrumental in the next coaching hire.

We owe Coach so much, because although he will not walk the sideline as Head Coach again, he, because he loves Alabama, ensured that the next ones who do, will be successful.
