@fishezuk I know who you mean now. Seen her in interview. Enjoy!

@GaryLineker your intelligence, football knowledge, amiability and humour will be missed. Best of luck in your future endeavours and thanks for coming to my living room most Saturday nights.

Can anybody recommend a good biography or autobiography? Musicians, actors, writers, artists are of particular interest. I usually read novels but not m about to start working on the first redraft of my latest novel and dont want the distraction of other writer’s work.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@robinjfisher @mrjamesob Quite right.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@Peston I am saddened and genuinely astonished by some of the comments on this thread.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@estella_rua I have happy memories of your first Adam.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@estella_rua Hard work. But you know, if you know. Go for it.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@AIrvingWriter Iona, Molly, Fiadh are currently popular. Hope that helps.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@estella_rua I know the feeling. It’s good, it’s great, it’s empowering, it makes you feel alive, connected, at one with the zeitgeist. It’s scary, fascinating,tiring and exhilarating. And it has to be done. We are not alone.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@Paul_Martin33 It’s the hours not the words.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@GaryLineker @RestIsFootball Is Shearer aware that we can tell, on MOTD, whether Newcastle have won or lost before the highlights, by his expression?

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@piratejw @BBCRadio2 You do a great job sir.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@ToriRWeed I write because I write.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@writerjac More scope with Betty. Was she an Elizabeth? Did she choose to shorten it? It depends on character. Myrtle seems a stiffer name to me.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@estella_rua I love a sonnet.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@ihussainwriter I usually take a few novels, a William or a Rumpole of the Bailey.

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@estella_rua Bit are they all in the right order?

[pete howells @stringybilly]

@mooninabucket Sorry to tell you that this is how I was taught back in the 60s and early 70s. And I love poetry still.
