"Jose" starts his day picking strawberries at an organic farm. After picking he goes back to crush the berries that have fallen to the ground that are no longer usable. This prevents pest infestations and stops fungal diseases from spreading to the rest of the crop. #WeFeedYou

JUST IN: YouTube, Meta, TikTok and even Elon Musk’s own X have reportedly REJECTED paid ads for the trailer of a new documentary about Musk, citing political content.

The trailer itself is still available to watch, but distributor Bleecker Street says the platforms would not approve it as a paid promotion. The company is appealing the decisions outside of X.

Remember when people spent a whole week questioning Ohemaa Nyanin’s status as a GM because of the Valkyries trade with the Storm at draft night?

AOC: And for anyone who says that’s unrealistic… this is literally what baby boomers gave themselves. Public colleges in America were tuition-free. You know when they started to get defunded? They got defunded when they started to get integrated.

It’s hard to remember a more likable team in New York sports history. They just all seem like great guys.

Tonight, @nnekaogwumike will play her final @WNBA game. Throughout her career, both on and off the court, she has been instrumental in changing the game for women’s basketball, including leading the charge in 2018 when @TheWNBPA opted out of their CBA. Her message was clear — bet on women: “This is not just about business. This is deeply personal. This is about the kind of world we want to live in.

I am an elite athlete. I am an MVP. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a No. 1 draft pick. I am a WNBA player and I am the president of the WNBPA.

And I want young female athletes to dream about playing in a vibrant and thriving WNBA. I want them to dream of having it all.

I don’t want the best and the brightest female athletes in the world dreaming about playing in the NBA. I don’t want the best and the brightest young girls growing up thinking that men are the pinnacle. I want those girls dreaming about growing up into the best women they can be.

And I want them to dream about the league that I know ours can become. A league that has a fair and consistent work environment. A league that treats its players as the world-class athletes they are. A league that invests in its future. A league that believes in us as much as we believe in it.

And it’s not just me who wants this. I’m one of 144 WNBA players....

To me, opting out means not just believing in ourselves, but going one step further: betting on ourselves. It means being a group of empowered women, in the year 2018, not just feeling fed up with the status quo, but going one step further: rejecting the status quo. And it means taking a stand, not just for the greatest women’s basketball players of today, but going one step further: taking a stand for the greatest women’s basketball players of tomorrow.

Does opting out mean that we have all of the answers right now, and that we’re about to propose a way to fix every problem in the W overnight? Of course not.

Does it mean we’re saying this league is broken, and we need to start the whole thing over from scratch? Not even close. We love this league. We’ll always love this league. The WNBA means everything to us....

It’s believing in what you know……. and then being alright with what you don’t know. And while we don’t know what the future has in store for this league — we do know that there’s never been a better time to be a part of it.

We believe in women, we believe in the WNBA, we believe in the WNBPA, and we believe that, wherever the finish line is for this movement that we’re a part of…… we’re just not there yet.

We’re opting out because women’s basketball’s potential is infinite.

We’re opting out because there’s still a lot more work to be done. And we’re betting on ourselves to do it.” https://t.co/Ur9u1hmQVj

Sophie Cunningham scored 0 points in 15 minutes for the Fever tonight.

In those 15 minutes, her +/- was -20.

Thought I'd share these stats, since she wants us to talk about basketball now.

Oh look the commitments that Paramount-Warner offered are void if the AI bubble pops.

[Jordan Zakarin @jordanzakarin]

The Paramout surrender is a perfect distillation of Democratic politics:

1. Talk a big game
2. Fold despite having legal leverage and public opinion on their side
3. Empower conservative oligarchs who hate working people.

Great message to send right before the elections!

[Chris Murphy 🟧 @ChrisMurphyCT]

A normal federal government would have stopped the Paramount merger. It's illegal on its face. It shouldn't have been left to AGs.

But this settlement puts us on the path to state run media and mass scale price gouging. It's corporate bullying prevailing over the law.

[Lina Khan @linamkhan]

The Paramount/Warner Brothers merger seems facially illegal, and the state AG lawsuit challenging it is very strong.

It’s troubling to hear that the states may now settle for behavioral remedies, allowing the deal to go through subject to various promises from the firms. Behavioral remedies routinely fail, and the stakes here are particularly high given that a strong democracy requires open markets for sound journalism and creative expression.

The states were right to step up, and I hope they keep fighting to protect this market, its workers, and the millions of Americans who value a free press and a vibrant film industry.

I’m glad Nikole Hannah-Jones wrote that essay. I went in thinking I’d roll my eyes, but came out feeling a great deal of empathy and also pain. I went through NYC public schools from K-12. My high school (James Madison HS) had airport-style scanning machines for us to go through every morning. The school boasts such alumni as Bernie Sanders, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Judge Judy, and Chuck Schumer. What happened to NYC public schooling from then to now? The answer is that we, the students, did not fail. We were failed.
