Hemorrhagic stroke needs a different treatment approach. 🧠

Treatment may involve:
• Blood pressure management
• Reversal of certain blood thinners
• Neurosurgery
• Endovascular procedures

Brain stroke treatment isn't one-size-fits-all.

Large vessel clot? Thrombectomy may be considered.

Eligible ischemic stroke? Thrombolysis may be an option.

Carotid narrowing? Stenting or endarterectomy may be considered.

Brain bleed? A different treatment pathway is needed.

How do doctors choose the right stroke treatment?

4 key factors:
⏱️When symptoms started
🧠 Brain imaging findings
🩺 Type of stroke
❤️ Overall medical condition

Early assessment helps identify appropriate treatment options.

Does every stroke require surgery? Not always.

For eligible ischemic stroke patients, treatment may include:

• Thrombolysis — clot-busting medication
• Mechanical thrombectomy — clot removal in selected cases

Recognize the signs. Seek emergency care quickly.

5 stroke treatments you should know:

Thrombolysis
Mechanical thrombectomy
Medical management
Surgical management
Stroke rehabilitation

Treatment depends on stroke type, timing, brain imaging and patient eligibility.

Stroke has treatment options. Don't delay emergency care.

How do doctors choose the right stroke treatment?

✓ Check symptom timing
✓ CT/MRI: clot or bleed?
✓ Assess eligibility for thrombolysis or thrombectomy
✓ Manage bleeding when present
✓ Plan rehabilitation and prevention

“I’m too young for a stroke.”
Think again.

Excessive alcohol, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, obesity & physical inactivity can increase stroke risk.

Stroke prevention starts with what you do every day — not when you reach the hospital.

Your body weight can affect your stroke risk.

Excess weight may increase the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol, which can contribute to blood vessel damage and a higher risk of stroke.

Healthy weight management can help reduce these risk factors.

Stroke risk is multifactorial.

Hypertension, abnormal blood sugar, cholesterol, atrial fibrillation, obesity, tobacco and alcohol can all contribute to overall stroke risk.

Know your risk. Act early. Prevent stroke.

An irregular heartbeat can mean more than a heart problem.

Atrial Fibrillation (AF) can increase blood clot formation, and a clot reaching the brain can cause an ischemic stroke.

Know your rhythm. Get evaluated. Follow your treatment plan. Prevent stroke.

The symptoms disappeared. The warning didn’t.

Sudden weakness or speech difficulty that resolves may be a TIA—an important warning of possible future stroke.

Don’t wait for symptoms to return. Seek urgent medical evaluation.

Why do I need a Carotid Doppler?”

Because carotid artery narrowing can develop silently.

In selected high-risk individuals, Carotid Doppler can help assess these arteries and support timely management to reduce future stroke risk.

Why does BMI matter in stroke prevention?

A higher BMI is associated with increased risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, and unhealthy cholesterol levels—all of which can contribute to stroke risk.

Prevention starts with the choices you make today.
