This is a devastating blow for russia and I’m incredibly proud of the result. It’s proof that if you put enough pressure on politicians and wake enough people up, real change can happen.
The power of journalism when used for good. 🙏❤️

So why are Russians screaming and shrieking in every video now that Ukrainian cruise missiles and massive swarms of drones are finally flying back toward their cities?
Weren't they the ones who spent decades happily consuming kilotons of the Kremlin's warmongering propaganda in everything from the daily news to films, TV series, and even cartoons?
Weren't they the ones who enthusiastically echoed their permanent regime's slogans of "We can do it again!!!" and spent generations indulging in fantasies of a glorious war against the "decadent gay West," provided they could stay comfortably on their couches, consuming triumphant war reports and the sound of military marches on television?
Weren't they the ones dreaming of putting those "stupid khokhol swines" in their place, cheering with delight when Ukrainians were "punished" for their pro-Western democratic revolution through the criminal seizure of Crimea and the unleashing of the bloody war in Donbas?
Weren't they the ones who for years swallowed the revanchist pseudo-historical ravings of their KGB bio-robot in the Kremlin, shouting "On to Washington!!" and "On to Berlin!!" while dressing their own little children in military uniforms and putting them into toy tanks and cardboard missiles?
Weren't they the ones who erupted in euphoria at the launch of the "Kyiv in three days" operation, only to then flock by the hundreds of thousands and millions to kill Ukrainians as mercenaries for peanuts and to work for Russia's military-industrial complex, counting their blood-soaked profits?
Weren't they the ones who descended into complete moral savagery as a people and as a country, watching with their own eyes as horrific war crimes against Ukraine and Ukrainians were committed every single day, from torture and beheadings to the destruction of entire cities and nighttime missile strikes that brought apartment buildings down on top of the people inside?
Weren't they the ones who celebrated every mass killing of Ukrainians on social media, gleefully fantasizing about "leaving Europe without gas" and "freezing the khokhols in the dark this winter"?
Weren't they the very same people who loudly applauded and shouted "THANK YOU!!!" to the Wagner mercenaries in Rostov-on-Don three years ago?
Aren't they still happily consuming nonstop propaganda about the "Kyiv junta," "Ukrainian Nazis," and the "former so-called Ukraine," while listening to state propagandist Solovyov and Putin's officials calling for Odesa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv to be wiped off the face of the earth with nuclear weapons because they refused to submit and fought back?
So what is it? Do Russians no longer enjoy the "sacred war" now that the time has come to answer for that entire orgy of hatred, chauvinism, revanchism, militarism, the cult of death, totalitarianism, and the cynical exploitation of the memory of World War II to justify new wars of conquest?
Now the Ukraine they despised so deeply and looked down upon as inherently inferior -- has survived this war, rallied the support of the free world, armed itself to the teeth, and is now systematically breaking the very backbone of their inhuman war machine.
One of the most popular questions asked by Muscovites this morning is “What is going on?”
I can answer. Your country started a war of aggression against ours. For years, it has been killing our people.
Now that you know what’s going on, ask Putin when he is planning to end it.
By striking the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, one of the greatest holy sites of Christianity, Putin has forever put his name on the list of history’s worst barbarians.
He should be damned for centuries. And he will lose this war.
From the Horde in the 13th century to the Nazis and Bolsheviks in the 20th century, Kyiv’s sacred monasteries have suffered numerous barbarically attacks.
Now we are dealing with Russian terrorists who have already outmatched ISIS in their crimes against cultural heritage. Only Russian scum who have nothing sacred can deliberately damage the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a unique UNESCO heritage site under special protection.
We will be urgently initiating all relevant procedures within UNESCO and all other international mechanisms, demanding immediate and adequate responses to this state barbarism.
We expect strong reactions by international institutions and capitals. No vague words, silence, or weak steps. We need action now to stop Russian barbarism.
No, sweetie.
Donetsk was a city of a million roses when its own Ukrainian flag flew above it.
Back then, it was also the fastest-growing and most rapidly prospering city in Ukraine -- home to what was the finest regional airport in Eastern Europe, one of the world's best football stadiums, a state-of-the-art railway terminal, and one of the cleanest, best-maintained cities in the region.
Its elites were running Kyiv, and every time I visited Donetsk as a student, riding the famous trolleybus Route No. 2 through the city, I was amazed by how many new office buildings were appearing, how much money was flowing into the city, and how many international companies were opening their doors there.
Fifteen years ago, to us kids from Donbas, Donetsk felt like the center of the universe because it had everything one could possibly dream of. It was a young city of universities and libraries, where the overwhelming majority of boys and girls from across Donbas went to study, including those from my own small hometown an hour away by bus.
Names like Liverpool or Detroit Rock City may mean nothing to you, but our Ukrainian Donetsk was a city of great rock clubs and unforgettable concerts. We traveled there to see Western bands perform.
We bought rock merchandise at the legendary Right House store near Krytyi Market. Scorpions, Rihanna, and Beyoncé performed at the famous Donbass Arena. Schoolchildren from across Donbas were bused in to watch Shakhtar Donetsk matches. The city even had a famous monument to The Beatles.
It was a city where we sang songs on guitars in its beautifully maintained parks and along the Kalmius embankment before heading out to buy the famous "green Donetsk burgers." Our older friends moved there after graduation, formed rock bands, recorded full albums, and held wedding celebrations in the squares around Donbas Arena. We traveled there to visit the legendary Radio Market in search of films, music, and books.
And then you arrived.
And you turned the wealthiest, most prosperous Ukrainian city into a piece of shit.
You deceived many of its people with sweet promises of Russian oil-fueled prosperity broadcast from television screens, but what you brought instead was war.
You transformed a thriving city into a criminal wasteland ruled by ethnic gangs from Russia, into a kingdom of Stalinist terror straight out of the 1930s, complete with torture chambers in the infamous Izolyatsia prison camp. You turned the magnificent Donetsk Airport into lifeless gray rubble, while the vast stands of Donbas Arena have spent a second decade slowly being reclaimed by weeds instead of hosting Champions League finals and Metallica concerts.
You swept away an entire generation of the city's men through your forced mobilization and threw them against Ukrainian machine guns until there were barely enough people left to keep basic municipal services running. Because of you, prosperous Donetsk became a withered desert without reliable water, because your war destroyed the canal system that carried water from the Siverskyi Donets River into Donbas. For years now, people have lived with chronic water shortages and have been reduced shitting into plastic bags forever.
You dragged Donetsk back like seventy years in time. You turned it into a depressed backwater, devoid of hope and future. Even ten years ago, tens of thousands of people, the most active, the most talented, the most entrepreneurial, fled the city and found refuge in Kyiv and elsewhere in Ukraine. Many of them still remember our Donetsk with tears in their eyes, the Donetsk that existed before the arrival of the "Russian World."
You transformed it into something that even my pro-Russian acquaintances are shocked to see when they return after years of occupation.
It was you who trampled the million roses of our Ukrainian Donetsk into shit beneath the tracks of your tanks and the boots of your death troops, turning them into a foul swamp of death and despair.
And that stain will forever remain on the conscience of fascist Russia, which brings nothing but destruction, decay, and death wherever it goes.
Slawa Ukraini.💙💛
It feels like we’ve reached a point where Donald Trump’s wild antics and outbursts have finally exhausted everyone, and he’s now being told a direct, unambiguous “NO,” nothing more.
The humiliating groveling, the streams of flattery, the constant appeasement, the way people spoke to him like a spoiled, difficult child -- all of it only made his unhinged narcissism, volatility, and sense that the world owes him everything even worse.
I suspect that as he continues to drag himself down with his own madness and mistakes, people will gradually stop taking him and his social media tirades into account at all.
Total sanctions means total. President Trump took strong steps sanctioning Lukoil and Rosneft. We are thankful to him. He can sanction all of their energy, in particular nuclear energy. And it will be a powerful message to the Europeans.
Europeans have done a lot. But they haven’t yet sanctioned Russian nuclear energy, Rosatom, the persons and their relatives, their children, who live off their money in Europe, in the United States, who pay with these profits for their education at European universities, who own real estate in the United States. A lot of real estate. They financially support children and relatives everywhere.
Fuck away to Russia. Go home. You don't respect anybody in the United States. You don't respect the rules. You don't respect democracy. You don't respect Ukraine or Europe. Go home.
His helmet bears portraits of our athletes who were killed by Russia. Figure skater Dmytro Sharpar, who was killed in combat near Bakhmut; Yevhen Malyshev, a 19-year-old biathlete killed by the occupiers near Kharkiv; and other Ukrainian athletes whose lives were taken by Russia’s war.
I thank the flag bearer of our national team at the Winter Olympics, Vladyslav Heraskevych, for reminding the world of the price of our struggle.
This truth cannot be inconvenient, inappropriate, or called a “political demonstration at a sporting event.” It is a reminder to the entire world of what modern Russia is.
And this is what reminds everyone of the global role of sport and the historic mission of the Olympic movement itself – it is all about peace and for the sake of life. Ukraine remains faithful to this. Russia proves the opposite.
From a European perspective, this is genuinely embarrassing.
A Team USA athlete, Hunter Hess, has apparently criticised the United States while abroad, and the response being celebrated in the headline is not a calm rebuttal or a dignified clarification, but a president publicly going after him in a punishing, performative way. Even the wording, “eviscerates”, signals the point is humiliation, not leadership. It frames the country like a reality show where loyalty tests and public shaming are treated as governance.
You would have to search far and wide to find a country that manages to look this ugly in its politics and public behaviour, and a president who so perfectly mirrors it. In most democracies, a leader would rise above it, defend the country’s values without acting personally wounded, and avoid turning a citizen into a national punching bag. This is not strength and the MAGA regime drags the entire country’s reputation down. AGAIN!!
It reads like third world level political theatre
No, Ukraine is absolutely not the enemy of Hungary.
Viktor Orban and his lust for Kremlin blood money and life-long power at any price, however, is.
Very much indeed.
Inhuman monsters from Russia today simply went ahead and struck an ordinary bus with a drone -- a bus carrying Ukrainian coal miners (!!!) on their way to work near the city of Pavlohrad.
Fifteen people were killed, as of now.
For what? Why? What did those hardworking miners do to the Russian monsters? Why this inhuman and senseless killing for the sake of killing itself?
Because they were Ukrainians, alive, and honestly working in their own country, Ukraine?
Is this what that shameless stooge Witkoff calls “Russia working to ensure peace”?
All of this immeasurable scum has their hands drenched up to the shoulders in Ukrainian blood -- any they will never, never, NEVER wash it off.
It’s a serious question who’s actually more stupid here: all those “RAND Corporation experts” who have been peddling idiotic takes for years -- like “Western weapons won’t make any difference to Ukraine” -- and feel zero embarrassment as reality keeps brutally proving them wrong day after day,
or the people who, despite having their absolute incompetence and barely concealed pro-Russian bias right in front of their eyes, still keep stubbornly publishing and consuming these worthless takes along the lines of “in any unclear situation everyone must immediately surrender, and God forbid anyone ever says no to Putin.”
We’ve already listened to all these so-called “escalation managers” and “don’t-provoke-Putin” types long enough to get to the point where Russia, with its pumped-up war machine, is openly threatening to invade European countries and has formed a global anti-Western alliance of dictatorial regimes.
So maybe it’s time to finally turn the brains on instead of repeating the same "don't-defend-yourself-or-else" whining by Samuel Charap?
I’m genuinely shaken to my core by how the Trump administration is ABSOLUTELY FINE with the fact that, right in the middle of yet another round of “peace talks,” literally while delegations are sitting across from each other discussing “compromise,” Russia is launching devastating missile strikes on heating and electricity in Ukrainian cities, leaving millions of people in a humanitarian catastrophe in the middle of a freezing winter.
And there isn’t the slightest objection, condemnation, or demand to stop. Nothing. Nobody appears bothered by these mass war crimes unfolding live.
Nothing, except regular Trump outbreaks in claiming that “Zelensky doesn’t want peace.”
And it’s easy to see why: they think that every Ukrainian apartment block demolished by a Russian missile in the middle of the night, along with the people inside it, helps them “pressure Zelensky into a deal.”
It’s astonishing. Down to the darkest depths of moral collapse. I genuinely can't wrap my head around how things could end up this way in this regard.
In June this year, Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine will match the entire duration of World War I.
And yes, I have little faith this war will end before then.
Because if anything, Donald Trump and a year of catastrophic, delusional collusion with the Kremlin gave Putin every reason to keep going and escalating his atrocities with near-total impunity.
At best, the past year prolonged the war and delayed the moment when Russia is finally exhausted economically and militarily, and forced to stop by Ukraine’s heroic defense.
So I’m afraid that amid all this empty bravado and those humiliating, knee-bending trips to the Kremlin by random NYC real estate agents, we’ll be marking yet another bleak milestone, just as we did this January, when the war matched the duration of the Eastern Front in World War II.
The battle for Ukraine continues...
IT'S 3PM. MACRON WAKES UP DONALD WHO SOUNDS TIRED, CONFUSED, AND STUPID. (HIS USUAL SELF.) HE MUMBLES "NOBEL PEACE PRIZE." MACRON IGNORES HIM LIKE A PARENT IGNORES A CHILD. MACRON TELLS HIM THAT ZELENSKY ACCEPTED THE PEACE DEAL. DONALD IS TRYING TO REMEMBER WHO ZELENSKYY IS AND WHAT "PEACE" MEANS. THEN PROCEEDS TO SLEEP-TALK.
WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF DUMBODIA.
