1. The judge can indeed impose the terrorist connection, whether it is so charged or not, per s.69 Sentencing Act 2020.

2. Crown Court sentences don't set precedents. This is trite - and as an MP, you really ought to know this.

3. The sentences are neither disproportionate, nor wrong. There was serious damage (£1.2m) to property, and a police officer's spine was fractured with a sledgehammer.

What's "wrong" here is that MPs are outraged that people have been appropriately sentenced for such crimes that include GBH by fracturing a police officer's spine with a sledgehammer.

We should not have MPs who think this way.

I struggle financially — I was homeless, living in a group home for the past several months … just today I got my first job in four years, minimum wage, part time, but dammit it’s a great job and I am so excited … I have a B.S. in Psychology and still plan to become a therapist/researcher, I am studying on my own using old textbooks and AI, I go to classes three nights a week … but I look up to Elon Musk, I respect the hell out of that man … because he has put in 18-20 hour work days practically every day since the 1990s … he has invested practically every dollar he’s earned back into all of his companies, he has created jobs all around the world, he has resurrected manufacturing in the USA … he lives modestly, no fancy cars, no private islands, no custom-made yachts — a business jet, but the man travels back and forth across the country for business every week … he gives back to the communities where he builds, he donates Starlink equipment and connectivity whenever there’s a disaster anywhere in the world … and he pays his taxes every year … he is a good man, honorable, strong work ethic, strong morals, strong integrity … he has built himself from the bottom up, he is living the American dream … I wake up every morning, not feeling sorry for myself or complaining about my circumstances, but dreaming of traveling to the Moon and Mars, dreaming of the day when Blindsight will restore vision once more with brilliant technology, knowing I can use Grok to study my heart away for $30/month instead of $1000s a year at a university for the same education … Elon’s visions give me hope, and his work ethic inspires me … every day … he deserves every cent of his $1 trillion … here’s to him earning a trillion more …
