Who is ascendant in the culture is not who has been/continues to be ascendant in politics. This dichotomy has been pervasive since the 1990s.

Political scientists call the post 1972 era as divided govt. It seems we need a new name for the post-1994 era for this bifurcation.

The goal will be to try and understand why our culture is driven as it is by remakes, remixes, and eternal returns - and why our minds seem to relish in this cultural conservatism even as our cultural language is purposefully laced with fluctuating progressive presumptions

More musings. Fandoms are often mired in negativity. In this musing, I suggest that instead of always chasing a feeling we once experienced and being angry when we don't, we have a sense of gratitude that such experiences ever existed in the first place.
