One time a therapist was like “give yourself a reward for completing a task” and I was like “or I could just give myself the reward anyway and not do the annoying boring daunting task” and she was like… oh.
a lot of tips for executive dysfunction are like “pretend the hat man is pointing a gun at you” “put your clock 15 minutes ahead”and i don’t understand how are these tricks supposed to work because maybe i’m simply too.. aware?

@Dx3AGP@jonnydaire23 Generally speaking, if advice doesn’t work, it’s not good advice. Bullying myself doesn’t help me solve the issue at hand, because I’m still not gonna *do the thing* and now I’m ALSO supposed to feel like shit about it? Sounds worse to me but hey whatever works for you.
@jonnydaire23 Therapy can’t do shit for my fucked up reward system but I sure as hell cognitive behavioral therapied my ass right into some healthy self-esteem after a particularly critical emotionally abusive relationship dragged it into the gutter so hey at least I have that going for me ✌️
Hello ADHD friends!! As this has gotten a bit of attention, I’m here to share something that HAS worked for me for another common ADHD struggle- remembering if I took my meds today or not (since phone alarms and pill sorters have failed me miserably): https://t.co/9BBBi5NGVB
Literally one of my favorite things to do is “cat call” other women out my car window yelling things like “cute dress!” and “I love your hair!” etc etc
