@flowwweb@tobi@alexzeig To get to the checkout you need registered credit card.
To be able to get a credit card you need to be identified by the bank .
Shopify runs the checkout surface - the policy on who can buy what lives at the merchant edge, not the platform core. There’s no native “minor tried to buy a restricted item” signal; age isn’t collected by default, and Shop Pay verifies you control a card, not that you’re an adult.
So “how would I?” is mostly fair. And it’s the right design which is exactly why forcing identity resolution at the front door for everyone is the wrong layer to fix this.
Britain has a problem with violent invaders…so the police arrest old white guys and 5-year-olds.
Canada is no different. If I weren’t a Whitey, I’d still be teaching.
The Abbotsford superintendent who fired me was a DEI hire who targeted white people.
CBC is so incredibly manipulative disingenuous.
"I'm not going to play the disturbing inhumane clip of a migrant attempting to behead someone in the middle.of the street..."
"But I will play the clips of angry White people reacting to it.."
