This morning, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, has appointed our bishop, Most Reverend Richard G. Henning, S.T.D., as the 7th Archbishop of Boston. He will succeed His Eminence, Cardinal Seán Patrick O’Malley, who has led @bostoncatholic since 2003.

The change was effective at Roman Noon (6 a.m. Eastern Time) today and was publicized in Washington, D.C. by Cardinal Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States. Archbishop-Elect Henning became Bishop of Providence on May 1, 2023. He will remain at the helm of the Diocese of Providence as Apostolic Administrator until his installation in Boston on October 31.

Happy Feast of Sts. Louis & Zelie Martin! They are the patrons of our parish. Today is their wedding anniversary.

From their marriage, the fruit of 9 children, 5 of whom made it to adulthood hood, and 5 religious vocations. One of those sisters is St. Therese of Lisieux!

Today is the feast of our parish’s patrons, Sts. Louis & Zelie Martin! They are the first married couple to be canonized as saints.

When our parish was erected in 2019 and the name was chosen for the parish, @BpRobertReed gifted the parish the relics of our patrons!

Cardinal O’Malley has appointed Fr. Anthony Cusack as the second pastor of Sts. Louis & Zelie Martin. He will begin his assignment here on August 1, 2023. We welcome Father and promise our prayers for him.

Fr. Cusack was ordained in 2015 and currently serves in Scituate.
