This disaster of a season has opened up MAJOR questions about Vikings’ QB evaluation process.
The last 12 months have brought on a wild (self-inflicted) turn of events for this organization.
From having top-7(ish) QB play in 2024… to having THE WORST QB play in the NFL in 2025 -- on the most expensive (cash) roster in the NFL. The Vikings expected to compete for a Super Bowl with this team.
The biggest questions:
HOW did they so badly misjudge the readiness of JJ McCarthy? The mechanics. The ability to run this offense -- specifically the way KOC (passing extremeist) wants it run.
HOW did they so badly misjudge the readiness of Max Brosmer? This entire week has been an endless hype train coming FROM the Vikings, who have clearly been telling reporters and broadcasters how Brosmer was ready to step in and drive this car. Which, by the way, is incredibly unfair to Brosmer, who is an *undrafted rookie* playing the hardest position in all of sports.
WHY is there such a gap between veteran QBs running KOC’s offense vs. inexperienced QBs -- with very little adjustment on KOC’s end to bridge the gap?
And if the Vikings had a good sense for ANY of these aforementioned things… Why let Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones both walk out the door?
A lot to unpack.
The coolest thing about business is the longer you’re in it, the better you get.
If I look at myself today vs. a year ago as a business owner, it’s not even close.
And it’s not because I read some book or took a course.
It’s because every year, more shit gets thrown at you problems, fires, people issues, money stress and if you want your business to level up, you’re forced to level up with it
You either get better or you get buried
People will judge you if you try and fail.
People will judge you if you try and succeed.
People will judge you if you don’t try at all.
So decide: what do you want to be judged for?
My top 5 traits of successful SMB operators 🧵
1) Street Smarts
They read people fast. Navigate chaos. Make sharp decisions with limited info. No MBA required — just instinct, hustle, and reps.
2) Follow Up, Follow Up, Follow Up
They don’t let anything fall through the cracks. Customers. Crews. Vendors. If it's not done, they’re on it — again and again.
3) Disciplined with Cash
They are on top of every dollar coming in and going out of their bank account(s) at all times. Cash is oxygen — they track it relentlessly.
4) Builders of Systems
They turn chaos into checklists. Getting teams to follow SOPs allows them to leverage their time and scale while also ensuring things run right even when they’re not around.
5) High Ownership Mentality
No excuses. No blame. Just accountability, leadership, and action. Do whatever it takes to win.
The most important thing in your career:
Speed.
If you answer emails fast, walk fast, talk fast, get shit done fast, you will make a lot of money.
No sense of urgency, you won't.

The Vikings' failure to make the playoffs extended Minnesota's streak without an NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB championship to 32 years, the most (by 10 years!) among U.S. markets with all 4 leagues. Like any Minnesotan, I tried to make the best of it here: https://t.co/apq6jJEDdZ
