All associated with Ayr United are beyond disappointed with the events that led to today’s cancellation.

On arriving at the ground it became clear that there was an area of the pitch that was frozen and would have never passed an inspection. This would have been clear to anyone who walked across it at any point on the day of the game.

The fact this was not highlighted to us or the league this morning which resulted in our players, staff and fans travelling over 250 miles for a match that would never start is unacceptable.

We can only apologise to our supporters who travelled and confirm that we will make representation to the SPFL to highlight our serious concerns.

The Club are delighted to announce that Marco Rus has signed a contract extension to June 2028.

Marco joined from Coventry City in June 2024 and has become a fans' favourite.
