@ashleyschendel Backing in I can see the boundary lines with my mirrors, ensuring I am centered and being conscientious to other drivers. I rarely if ever have to realign the car. Overall, if I used a stop watch, I am confident I would spend less time maneuvering in and out than front parkers
@theiaincameron Imagine surveying that in the 1800’s. The heat, the flies, the desolation, and only a bottle of whiskey as a companion. Mistakes may have been made.
@k_eagar Outright ban on short term rentals is just absurd. You want to just kill every beachside holiday town and country get-away in one go?? Some nuance, please
@levelsio You breath out roughly 46,000ppm CO2. A partial pressure of around 35mmHg. So what you’re breathing is much much less than that. It might require one extra breath per minute at most to compensate for.
@ItsRobbAllen People just don’t read it properly, including me. It seems like a trivial test of empathy until you read it a second time and think about it for a moment
@Emma_A_Webb This is just the government saying “moving forward, we’re going to ban this incredibly harmful and addictive drug from the next generation”. It’s hard to see how a kid turning 18 is having rights trampled by not beng allowed access to something that he couldn’t buy 1 day before
@GeriatrickGames@latestinspace@Denise_OldLady2 Yeah you’re not wrong, but to be fair Voyager was never really built to travel between stars. I bet if we tried really hard, we could get something TWO light days away after 49 years 😁
@WEtHePe0pl@astro_reid@Astro_Christina So what you’re buying is that the whole conspiracy is uncovered because the props department cocked up and used a cloth ‘hatch’ instead of a hard hatch? You must think that despite decades of faking it they really don’t have any production values… 🙄
@WEtHePe0pl@astro_reid@Astro_Christina Oh FFS man, a 5 second google search showed the answer. The pressure hatch is located inside, and opens inwards, so that the station pressure keeps it closed passively.
@esrtweet If they wanted to join the wider civilisation, it would undoubtably damage them in extraordinary ways, but I can’t imagine they would ever be refused. But forcing integration on them seems to be a paradoxical move of removing their autonomy in order to give them more autonomy?
@kennyraytitan@astro_reid@Astro_Christina So the space ship is going maybe 10-20 times faster that a high speed train. But the moon’s surface is maybe 500-1000 times further away from the spaceship than, say, mountains could be from a train on Earth. Do the mountains seem to move fast when your train goes past? No.
@WEtHePe0pl@astro_reid@Astro_Christina What’s to explain?? I see a slightly sped up clip of an astronaut trying to maneuver in zero gravity, which looks tricky. Everything is behaving exactly as one would expect in a zero-g vacuum.
