Is this my beginning or is this the end and some days when it’s not elusive I’m like on with that spiritually and passion like some cosmic firework and We Just Disagree by Dave Mason…
Dawning in my minds eye that when this is complete it’ll be that first time ya get an LP by a favourite band except it’s not a band in as much as it’s the apex culmination of the composite parts of what I dig and then its own bag. Yeah that’s it. Right ON. Intense. Pure. ‘26.
Unite the UK, united that is by slobbering at a junk food trough of hate, ignorance, stupidity. Festering for years. Ain’t no debate. You’re being used. Go shout at the centres of tax billions avoidance. Uncomfortable, you can smell it. A colourless joyless place to be near.
So. Find a fresh way to express. Gotta sit next to those classics. Play every beautiful note and beat you can yourself. Do it all again. Push it as far as you can and more. In the best places. The best cats. Horns, strings, keys. Keep it punchy and that snap. Then the next song…
I knew there’d be a time coming to release these records the country is a simmering pot, total disconnect and they are intensely relevant, all that passion means they are just as I want.
Finish. Start again. Perfection.
I’d like to have had it all ready for major release earlier maybe ? It’s been a personal achievement to build up the best records ever and not go the model of “band” just be as fluid and expressive as possible
but anyone aware of the wreck current music has been left in commercially, artistically and financially knows it’s the last place I look for inspiration. But that can change. Tour de force.
Hope to source the funds to mix the next 2 songs this year then it’s done! A simmering pot and I’m looking for the intelligence, joy, passion, poetry, Pop art and Soul I need…
Paul Weller’s new album is not only great but also very surprising: covers of 70s singalong pop classics by Brian Protheroe, White Plains and the Bee Gees. The spirit of Batley Variety club!

@CrowleyOnAir Great show Gary! Father’s Day. I recall telling my Dad I was a Mod now. He handed me The Soul Album, Soul Ballads by Otis Redding & Wicked Picket, Midnight Hour Wilson Picket LPs and said go listen. Still have them x
