"A soul of fire and a temper of steel."
I'm doing a deep dive on the life of Teddy Roosevelt right now, and he was a titan among men. Current in his autobiography and one of the things that stood out to me so far is the way he describes the necessary disposition of a man.
A soul of fire, and a temper of steel.
In other words, be passionate, but don't let those passions run you.
Steer the ship, keep the rudder, be controlled -- but be passionate.
Teddy is a man who understands the proper disposition of a leader. And that right there is going to be my target for the rest of my life.
The Conservative Resurgence in the SBC was a very good thing and saved Southern Baptists from becoming a liberal, apostate denomination like the other Protestant Mainlines
Not a single person that works for me has a marketing degree.
And it makes them better marketers.
The lessons that our team has learned, they've learned in the trenches, in real time, building systems at scale that generate returns.
We've seen folks pivot off our retainers into a "more credentialed" firm and then watched their metrics plummet from a distance.
Marketing is smash mouth with a sprinkle of finesse. Don't overcomplicate this thing.
Too many times I've interacted with the educated and trained and been underwhelmed.
Once I worked with a videographer that graduated with a video production degree and never touched a camera. His productions vastly beneath those who just grabbed a camera and learned on the fly.
Another time I interacted with a marketing graduate who told me the biggest thing they came away from college with was the importance of social media. This was at least a decade after the social media boom had apexed.
Then there are the contemporary creatives who refuse to use the AI tools because it's "beneath them." Ok. Meanwhile those who are adapting and jumping in are dramatically increasing output and profits, because the results are obvious.
Formalized training in these fields will, at best, put you 5 years behind. Probably more.
But no, we won't talk to you in the acronyms. No, we're not going to talk to you about marketing theory. And also, no, I have no interest in pursuing letters after my name (nor will I send my team to do so).
We build systems that increase leads and revenue. Period.
We do so in the trenches of the in-the-moment developments in digital marketing, AI, and the ever changing social landscape.
Listen - If you want to build an excellent marketing team, put someone in the seat and give them a scoreboard. Tell them to move the needle. Fire them if they don't. Don't accept the excuses. Pull the trigger.
If you want help setting this up with realistic expectations, hit me. I'd be happy to help you turn your marketing team into the revenue generation stream it's supposed to be.
And no, you don't have to hire Page50 to accomplish that.
Woke up and chose violence this morning. Fight me.
@MorePerfectUS Why do the county commissioners make a distinction between the citizens and the protesters?
It seems like these are two separate groups. The citizens in the front, the crowds on the side.
What is happening?
