@ChrisCoopsSport Real balls by Southampton to break the rules and think they’d get away with it though. They’ve admitted to doing it on 3 occasions this season…!
An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubs’ training.
In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table.
The effect of today’s order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. The final remains scheduled for Saturday 23 May, with the kick-off time to be confirmed.

This guy Alex Belfield is a stone-cold criminal who will be in and out of jail for the rest of his life. He simply has no empathy with anyone. His abuse/stalking of the four women at BBC Leeds was a case in point. It went on for ten years. Under a succession of aliases he sent one of them 14,000 emails — one day telling her she's ugly, the next asking to help her buy lingerie. He only knows abuse and lies, and he will never comply with bail restrictions or, for that matter, any of his eleven restraining orders (including mine). It's sad, but malignant narcissists torch everyone around them — and then, when they're alone in a cell, they immolate themselves.

Evening from table 75 at Wetherspoons in #Ilkley. This probably doesn't work any more, but if you fancy sending us a Friday night treat, we'll be here for a bit...
Corking day hosting the Skipton Santa Fun Run + Christmas Lights switch on for @yourskipton with @stuartclarkson@NickJBabb @PatrickJIDunlop. The best one I can remember, and a fun way to spend a Sunday! Well done to @SkiptonCouncil as always. #Skipton always does events so well.
Tim Davie was one of the best D-Gs the BBC has had, and Deborah Turness was a brilliant head of news. Only the BBC’s enemies could possibly be glad they’ve resigned. We’ve now got a real fight on our hands to defend public service broadcasting, because that’s under threat too.
Yes the BBC made a mistake. Yes someone should pay for it - probably.
But think of the high standards it has to meet and how it’s judged compared with the commercial sector.
Watch The Hack and ask yourself - did all those involved get the punishment they deserved?
Great point well made from @SimonCalder just now on @bbc5live re the London-centric rail travel warning ‘Do not travel north of Preston’ (there be dragons!)… “some people want to travel south of Carlisle,” notes Simon! 💯
