@RachelA1892 Ex banker that reckoned he could make more money from political agitation. Consequences for most people…worse off. Consequences for himself…better off. Consequences for the country….division, hate and a shrunken economy.
@Rachael2Win If this act is repealed do we also stop work on the “Misogyny legislation” for woman ? The legislation isn’t perfect, some grey areas that will need tested, but, the misinformation against it has been overwhelming. And, they need to get the woman’s bill into law asap.
@Seumasabhein@MaltTaster@STVNews@Lisa_McC_ “Clumsy and overstated” is more to do with his presentation. I just don’t see how it would win people over, It’s confrontational rather than persuasive, in my opinion. The content, however, is indeed fact and highlights an important issue.
@yurmaw9527@MaltTaster@STVNews@Lisa_McC_ I'm not familiar with Nigerian Law, or the nuances of their culture. I also don't have ethnic background statistics for senior positions held in Nigerian society, Civil or Private sector. Sorry, I can't help.
@MaltTaster@STVNews@Lisa_McC_ No, because it would be untrue, he’d be lying. It’s a clumsy speech within a Scot parliament debate about inequality, or something similar. Given that it’s within context and factual, it’s acceptable, albeit clumsy and overstated.
@joannaccherry@jk_rowling Having read the legislation, I was sure this would be the outcome. At least we have some clarification. As for her name being on record, would it not be in the report records, I.e held under the complainant’s file ?
@DollyGreyCloud@joannaccherry The Scot gov’t need to A) clarify their position on that issue asap. B ) consult widely and wisely. C) get a move on with legislation for woman.
@joannaccherry Unfortunately, everyone is suddenly a lawyer, just as they were virologists during the pandemic. There’s a lot of misinformation around this legislation, from all sides. That helps nothing. I appreciate your qualified comments on the subject.
@joannaccherry Thanks for shining some legal light on this legislation. In general, I’m ok with it, however, there are some grey areas that need tested in court. Furthermore, if they are introducing separate legislation for the protection of woman, where is it ? 1/2
@RabbiZvi@joannaccherry@AlexMacLeod9@BBCr4today So, you can’t answer but reply with assumptions about me. This says more about you than me. Have an adult conversation by all means but your response tells me you can’t. Bye
@Dreeeeenagh@IngrameThomas@joannaccherry@BBCr4today That’s what I was told 2 years ago. Haven’t heard anything about it since. I’m not against the new legislation but I think they really should get moving with protecting women.
@John2Win@CraigWHoy1@Rachael2Win@ScotTories You are actually saying inciting hatred and encouraging violence against others is ok ? You did correct them and reassure them that their views are founded on lies and smear campaigns.
