Well what a Guided Birdwatching cruise season we've had this winter.. Weather was atrocious heavy rain, gales, which didn't dampen the spirits of our guests who were Amazing. Our overwintering birds as always didn't disappoint. The Lesser Crested Tern stole the show on 3rd Dec..
A private Guided Birdwatching charter by the @metoffice proved to be one of the driest days of the winter.... How did they know?!! π lots of birds were on show with a nice flyby from Turnstones & DB Brent Geese Cattle Egret and Avocets were also seen in numbers. A great cruise.
This coming weekend 18th January the BBC Countryfile will be showcasing the Exe Estuary. We were lucky enough to have a film crew and Charlotte Smith aboard the Pride of Exmouth..Tune in to see how we got on. @VisitDevon@DevonWildlife@DevonBirds@RSPBExeEstuary@exmouthjournal
A female Kingfisher on Saturday's @stuartlineexm guided birdwatching cruise.
Another fabulous trip - glorious weather, epic birdlife and great value food and drink.
I find Avocets so exotic that Iβm resisting the idea they actually exist. Just look at how beautiful they are.
They're the subject of my wildlife adventure on today's post - taken from a @stuartlineexm cruise on the River Exe.
Which wildlife encounters give you the same feeling?
A rare bird sighting on the River Exe: a Lesser Crested Tern!πͺ½
βI see a lot of seabirds, but this is by far the rarest Iβve ever found.β β Graham Madge, who captured this incredible shot from aboard Stuart Line Cruises, @stuartlineexm
