@NormanBrennan@WW2Talk I cycle past this Gentleman’s memorial, on my way to work. (actually pushing my bicycle) I always look and acknowledge. He was protecting our nation, our democracy, our freedom, his plaque should be front and centre. And definitely not at ankle height, which it is.

@SimonCarGuy Beautiful pictures, I only have my Father’s RAF diary, very small, a few entries, 21 getting older. That was 1946, He was in Burma. To me, a braver man you’ll not find. It is my most treasured possession.
@AdamMossoff@MarkDampier If I just give a small story, my Father, ex RAF needed help one day, and one man stood to help him, his name was Helmut, who was also a headmaster and was in Wehrmacht. 1976. The wounds of war still open and sore. They became good friends. Both fought in same god awful war.
@ListerLawrence@TheRAC_UK Just to comment, my car was broken in storage. The AA engineer, arrived within 45 minutes, he was the kindest helpful person. Fixed it quickly then gave me some advice. Chris was a top man. Well played Sir. And Thank you Chris.
@PhilMyers53@RachelReevesMP I’m more than happy to discuss, but your absolute way you use ghastly language to people that disagree with you. We are British, we are better than that.
@MarcherReborn I’ll see your wife’s prezzies, and raise you an Airfiix model, (Harriet Jump Jet) Hornby railway, “Flying Scotsman” and a Tamiya radio controlled car. I’m in clover. She will love all of that. Me, I just want to take the dog for a walk and pint on Christmas morning.
@KeyserSosse I was 3 years old, when this happened. I remember my father shaking his head, when we talked about it 15 years later. He was quite strong man but desperately upset. He worked in the security services. He was disgusted, same as Enniskillen and Omagh and especially Airey Nieve.
