Dear MPs,
Please attend the debate about #DisabilityBenefits in Parliament today and vote against cuts that will cause unbearable suffering and preventable deaths.
Thanks,
Dr Watts

There are lots of statistics bandied about from the Spring Statement but this is one of the starkest for me. The government’s own department of Work and Pensions has shown that the benefit cuts for disabled people will push 250,000 people into poverty.
“If the government goes ahead with these cuts, new care homes will to have to be available.”
I spoke to carers about the catastrophic impact of upcoming PIP cuts: when a disabled person loses their benefit, their loved one will lose Carer’s Allowance too. https://t.co/LwkHBcdHnY
5 Billion in cuts to ‘welfare’. Nothing, absolutely nothing that can justify this. @UKLabour are reprehensible. They are going to be remembered for being cowardly, servile, weak, vicious & cruel. Please go and support @Dis_PPL_Protest
My inbox is jammed full of disabled folk, many from the mental health community, terrified and thrown into increased despair and worthlessness due to Labour’s refusal to front-end validation and basic human rights. This is not what positive change looks like @Keir_Starmer.
The government has announced the most devastating cuts to disability benefits on record.
These plans should shame the government to its core.
Here's our initial response to the new Welfare Green Paper 🧵👇
Debbie Abrahams says while many disabled can & want to work, "many others cannot & should receive adequate support", & they are worried about their benefits being cut. She asks the PM to listen to their concerns
The PM says work should be accessible to as many people as possible
“I'm made to feel like a burden for claiming benefits from the DWP. It's not a way of life – it's torture”
Karen, a disability benefits claimant, writes about her experiences being made to feel like a 'drain on the country's resources'

Last night’s @C4Dispatches programme was bitterly disappointing 📺
This was a chance to challenge the negative rhetoric on disability benefits. But instead, it felt like another hit job on ill and disabled people 🧵
A Reform MP is locating anxiety, panic disorder + agoraphobia, among other conditions, as signs PIP is open to corruption. I won’t dignify it with an RT, However, to be clear: these conditions can be so disabling suicide feels preferable. Don’t speak of what you don’t understand.

If you're being migrated from ESA to Universal Credit and are asked to provide fit notes or sign a claimant commitment, contact Citizens Advice or a similar as soon as possible. You should be moved directly to something called LCWRA, but the DWP is making errors. Jay X
My heart breaks for all who are not here because of Tory policies over 14 years, and those left behind in grief. It has been unliveable for many. Our inner worlds are directly influenced by the respect we are treated with and our access to the material means to live with dignity.
I am absolutely thrilled to be re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Oldham East and Saddleworth.
Thank you so much to everyone who supported my campaign and to all of you who voted for me.
I promise to continue to work hard for you all, whether you voted for me or not, representing you and #FightingForFairness for all across our constituency.
Debbie
Everyone knows Labour are going to win the election, but if you’re feeling like there’s no point in voting as the outcome is a foregone conclusion, I’d like to draw your attention to something really radical that is on offer tomorrow: 1/8
