@grant_farquhar@dairymanNZ @bartjevandeven The upside of waiting two weeks is the fact that the market has followed that trend, and the milk price expectation is now more than $9.50.
@BenDooley8 Agreed. I’m interested to see how this changes the division in the US. Ie is this a step too far? Or will it divide things further. For a kiwi in the US it’s not exactly a great environment to be looking forward too!!
@castleton_amy@waddington_erin Hmm we do a podcast, search highground on Spotify - but if there’s enough demand, I’m sure we can do videos too! They were a fun time at NZX!!
@dairymanNZ@BornBullish Had a mind wave when writing todays NZ milk price report - it would be handy for some context around these questions! So, @dairymanNZ and any other farmers who want free milk price market updates, hit this link: https://t.co/Z7B0dB4quB share it around, it’s free!
@dljagri@BornBullish@dairymanNZ FX rate of circa 0.6150 full season. Could be lower, as Fonterra has stated they have a fair amount of optionality available, about 18% the last time they provided guidance. I’ll be impressed if they can pull the full season below 0.6100 - it’s been a choppy year for NZD:USD
@bartjevandeven @NancyWrigh27418 @timgortonz@dairymanNZ@BornBullish How does the conversation progress from here? I’ll leave that to you @bartjevandeven
@dairymanNZ@BornBullish Brave considering that for the current $7.80/kgMS price to be achieved, the market has to find a little more support in the last three months, or 6 GDT auctions. Need an average wmp price of $3470, which the market isn’t at right now… next season looks healthier
Calling Kiwi Farmers! I’m back home for most of summer doing a milk price futures road trip - providing information on the why, what’s & how’s of nz milk price risk management! If you’re keen for a milk price workshop in your neck of the woods, get in touch or hit the link below!
@MaksDairyInfa I think the futures are still drifting off of a short squeeze last week, and looking towards the physical result tonight. Direction is needed to get momentum again.
@MaksDairyInfa Hmm 🧐 I’m sitting on the bearish side of the fence currently, with expectations that buyers will step back at tonight’s auction. However, declining milk supply outlook from NZ might drive a FOMO reaction from some buyers. It’ll be a very important auction for the whole industry!
