I'll say this again:
If you view assessment results as a number to put in a grade book for a kid instead of feedback on how well you provided the learning, you are probably doing it wrong.
Tracking kids=0.09 Effect Size, almost zero.
You'd have to squint hard to see the impact.
Yet we continue to ability group every day.
Doing so, the low kids stay low. The high kids stay high.
No real movement
Just everyone staying where they arrived to us in the 1st place.
🚫 There should be no special #education "resource rooms" in our buildings. Small groups should be responsive and include students with and without #IEPs who have the same need. #LeadInclusion#EdLeaders#Educators#UDL
💪 Compliance is not the ultimate goal. We aim to do more than prepare #students to perform well on assessments and follow rules. We want to equip them to make informed decisions, use their voice, and SHAPE the rules. #LeadInclusion#EdLeaders#Educators#UDL#SBLchat#TG2Chat
Great 7 minute video on the mismatch between how boys learn and what schools make them do. And how we use Adderall to bridge the gap, rather than giving them what they need: more play, movement, and hands-on activity. From @Robmontz
